The Truck Project

A Rental Truck and Students in Marre Roseau, Haiti

It is an understatement to say that travel in Haiti can be a challenge, and dangerous. Rural areas are rugged and most frequently require clearance and four-wheel drive. Within the city of Port-au-Prince, traffic can best be described as chaotic and nearly “anything goes.” Our good friend, Odines -- and his two-year old son Dyno -- are in need of a safe and reliable vehicle. The two of them currently use Odines' motorcycle for transportation -- a vehicle that is not necessarily safe (especially for Dyno) and certainly limits where they are able to travel and what they are able to do.

Odines and Dyno
With a good truck Odines would be able to travel to and from his work supporting communities in Haiti, earn additional funds by assisting visiting missions groups serving in the country, and safely take Dyno on trips within the city of Port-au-Prince and to see family members in other areas of the country.

This fundraiser is an effort to partner with Odines and support his purchase of a suitable vehicle. A friend has graciously agreed to finance the initial purchase of the vehicle. Funds raised through this effort will be used to assist with payments (and perhaps, pay down the principle of the loan) until Odines is able to takeover payments and close out the loan. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and support!
